How to use my domain name with Wix?

There are two steps to use your Wix account with your Moreweb domain name.

Please note that instead of using the Wix DNS, we will be using our Moreweb name servers, a method which Wix refers to as "Pointing". This allows you to continue using your email addresses with Moreweb including your free email address.

Step 1: In your Wix account:

1. Go to Domains in your Wix account.
2. Click Add an Existing Domain.
3. Click Connect a domain you already own.
4. Select the site you want to connect your domain to and click Next.
5. Enter the domain name and click Let's Go.
6. Click I own this domain.
7. Review the information on screen and click Start.
8. Click the Pointing link in the sentence at the top of the screen.
9. Click Switch to Pointing. Please keep this page open as you still need it for the next step.

Step 2: In your Moreweb account:

1. Log in to your Moreweb account.
2. Go to DOMAIN NAMES > ACTIVE.
3. Hover over the domain and click on MANAGE.
4. Click on MANAGE ZONE on the left side.
5. Click on NEW RECORD in the panel below and select A (IPv4 Address) under Type.
6. Enter "@" into the Host field and
7. enter the IP Address into the IPV4 field. You will find the IP address in your Wix account (see step 1).
8. Leave TTL and Dynamic DNS fields unchanged and click SAVE RECORD.
9. Click again on NEW RECORD in the panel below and select CNAME (Canonical Name) under Type.
10. Enter "www" into the Host field and
11. enter the CNAME into the Canonical Name field. You will find the IP address in your Wix account (see step 1). Please make sure to include a dot at the end of the CNAME field.
12. Leave TTL at 1h and click SAVE RECORD.
13. Click SAVE ZONE.

The verification can take up to 48 hours to connect. If it is not connected right away, please check again at a later time. If it is longer than 24 hours, contact us.
