The configuration of CAA records is necessary to specify which certification authorities (CAs) are authorized to issue SSL certificates for a given domain. If no CAA records exist in the DNS zone, any certification authority can issue SSL certificates for the domain.
Preparation: Before configuring CAA records, ask your certification authority to provide the required values according to the SSL certificate you wish to obtain.
Steps to configure CAA records:
- In your account, go to DOMAINS (Left Side Menu) > ACTIVE.
- Move the cursor over the concerned domain and click on the Manage Icon on the right.
- Click on EDIT DNS ZONE.
- Click on NEW RECORD.
- Select CAA (Certification Authority Authorization) in the "Type" dropdown menu.
- Enter the values provided by your certification authority for the following fields: host, flag, value, and type.
- Click on SAVE.
- Click on SAVE CHANGES.
Note: DNS changes typically require up to 24 hours to propagate throughout the entire Internet.
Important: This option is only available if the domain is using our name servers.
