How to use my email address on my iPhone or iPad?

Follow the below steps to setup and use your email address on your iPhone or iPad.

Important: Our email addresses require email clients that support TLS/SSL v1.2 or later, such as Apple Mail on macOS 10.11 (OS X El Capitan) or iOS 9 (iPhone 6) and above. TLS/SSL versions 1.0 and 1.1 for POP, IMAP, and SMTP used by OS versions older than that, are no longer supported by our OX email addresses.

Step 1

Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts click on Add account

Step 2

It is important to select the option Other


 

Step 3

Click on Add Mail Account

Step 4

Fill in Name, Email, Password and Description.

Name: this is the name in front of your email address, which is displayed to your recipients, e.g. "Moreweb Help help@moreweb.nz"
Email: this is your email address, e.g. help@moreweb.nz
Password: the password you set for this email address
Description: the name of your inbox in the Mail app (not visible to your customers, only to you)

Step 5

Make sure IMAP is selected and fill in all fields with the provided details:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Host Name: imap.openxchange.eu
Username: your email address
Password: your email password

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Host Name: smtp.openxchange.eu
Username: your email address
Password: your email password

Sometimes the app may ask for the following advanced fields. If not, you can ignore them.

Incoming Mail Servers (IMAP)

Port: 993
Security: SSL

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Port: 587
Security: TLS or STARTTLS

Step 6

Check that Mail is activated and click Save to verify and setup the account.

Step 7

Once setup, check that the security settings have been set correctly. Click on your email account.

Step 8

Click on SMTP to check the settings and after that continue with Advanced.

Step 9

After clicking on SMTP, click on smtp.openxchange.eu.

Step 10

Check the following and click Done. 

- Use SSL is activated
- Authentication method is Password
- Server port is 587

Step 11

Now click on Advanced and check that:

- Use SSL is activated
- Authentication method is Password
- Server port is 993

Step 12

Completed, your new email address sis properly setup.
