To transfer a domain without experiencing any outage, you can follow one of these procedures:
1. If your domain can continue using the same name servers, assign these name servers to the domain during your transfer order. To do this, first create a name server profile. Then start your transfer order and assign the name servers to the domain. On the CONFIGURE page, select the appropriate name server to apply. These name servers will be activated once the transfer is complete.
2. If your domain cannot continue using the same name servers, request the DNS Zone File in BIND format from your current registrar or hosting provider for the domain. The Zone File includes all DNS records required to point your domain to your website, mail server, etc.
Create a DNS zone profile in your account and import the Zone File there. Then start your transfer order, assign our name servers to the domain, and select the DNS zone profile you just configured. On the CONFIGURE page, choose the name server to apply. The DNS zone will take effect after the transfer is completed.
If you prefer, you can send the DNS Zone File in BIND format to us. We will import it into our name servers and notify you by email once the process is complete. After this, you can initiate the domain transfer through your account and assign the Default name servers to the domain.
